I took a bit of a chance on the FP8, as it's only just come out and reviews are few and far between, but so far it seems pretty good. Real shame you got such a rubbish one -- which model is it? Certainly not as bad as I'd feared for 12 million pixels crammed on a tiny sensor. I used the built-in "night landscape" mode, which probably helped. Overall, it's not a bad camera, especially for something so slimline. Certainly a good option for me, as I can always drag the SLR along if I want proper quality; what I'm looking for in a compact is relatively cheap portability... I'm hoping to post a proper "first impressions" review on my blog at some point soon, possibly this weekend. It’s not bad.
